Power & Energy

Delivering Critical Infrastructure, One Load at a Time

Supporting the Power and Energy sector across East, Central and Southern Africa

From transporting high-value transformers to delivering oversized wind components and specialized equipment, we provide engineered logistics solutions that enable governments, utilities, and private-sector operators to expand and upgrade national energy infrastructure

Transformers: Precision Handling for High-Value Assets

Transportation of numerous heavy-duty Transformers

Transeast has transported numerous heavy-duty transformers across the region, each requiring careful engineering, route surveys, and specialized equipment. One highlighted project includes moving 130T (metric) × 4 transformers for KETRACO to the Isinya substation near Kajiado—demonstrating our ability to manage complex, high-capacity equipment with accuracy and safety.

Wartsila Engine Movement: Multimodal Transport Excellence

Tanzania’s Gold Mine Operation
For a major gold mining operation in Tanzania’s Geita region, Transeast successfully transported four Wärtsilä engines weighing 157T (metric) each.
The operation required a dual transport strategy—by road and via Lake Victoria—to ensure a safe and efficient delivery to the remote mine site.
This project highlights our capability in advanced route planning and seamless multimodal integration.

Cable Drum Transport: Engineered for Stability

An Engineered solution suitable for Tall, Heavy and Sensitive Cargo
A massive 150T (metric) cable drum, standing 5.2 meters high with a high center of gravity, was transported from the Port of Mombasa to the Nyanza region.

To ensure stability and safety, the Goldhofer THP drop-deck trailer was selected—an engineered solution suitable for tall, heavy and sensitive cargo.

LPG Cylinders: Navigating Tight Routes with Precision

Transporting LPG Cylinders
For AGOL Miritini in Mombasa, Transeast transported a 22-meter-long, 5-meter-wide LPG tank using a combination of modular trailers and a spacer deck.
Thanks to the trailer’s all-wheel steering, our team successfully negotiated tight bends and delivered the tank safely to its remote destination—demonstrating Transeast’s ability to adapt to challenging site conditions.

Wind Farm Blades: Supporting Kenya’s Renewable Energy Growth

Transport of Wind Blades for the Vestas Wind Farm
Transeast handled the transport of wind blades for the Vestas Wind Farm on the Ngong Hills, one of Kenya’s most iconic renewable energy installations.

Moving these long, delicate components required specialized routing, precision maneuvering, and carefully managed escort operations, reinforcing our leadership in renewable energy logistics.

Engineering Infrastructure to support Power and Energy Operation

Kainuk Bridge Deployment: Innovation in Motion
To support the movement of oil and gas cargo near Lake Turkana, Transeast engineered a temporary bridge at Kainuk after the existing structure had been condemned due to flood damage.
This innovative solution not only enabled transport continuity but remains operational today—an enduring example of Transeast’s ability to engineer infrastructure to support power and energy operations in challenging environments.
