Transeast has been instrumental in moving equipment, rails & locomotives for the Standard Gauge Railway project in Kenya.

We specifically designed and fabricated trailers for the carriage of the 24 m rails.

Transeast also moves mountains for the NGO(non-governmental organizations) community as they support development projects and humanitarian relief in the region.

INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS
SGR(Standard Gauge Railway) 150T locomotives loaded on a 16 line Scheuerle modular trailer. The use of modular axle line for big loads makes sure we comply with the Government axle load limits. These were moved from Mombasa to Mtito Andei for the new SGR project

NGO HOSPITAL SHIP
Well documented by the press and public along the way. Largest single piece to transit Kenya! This hospital ship was donated by Princess Anne Trust to the people of Tanzania and is based on Lake Victoria. The ship was 27m long, 6m wide (main Mombasa highway is only 7m from side to side). The load height was 6.5m once loaded on the trailer. It took 35 days to cover the 900 km from Mombasa to Kisumu Port. Due to the height Transeast sought the assistance of KPLC(Kenya Power and Lighting Company) to lift all the power lines between Mombasa Port to Kisumu. We had to use a different route around Nairobi to avoid low bridges and seek help from Del Monte Kenya pineapple farm just outside Thika to allow us to move through their pineapple estate to avoid a low bridge.
